Sharapova says, "I had a coach to hone my ground strokes and another to fix my serve, so it made perfect sense to find someone who could perfect my grunt".

She went to a lady named Monica before every big tournament to improve the pitch of her screech. Not only did Monica improve the length and volume of her screeching, but most importantly, she helped Sharapova develop special screeches for different situations in the match. She said that if she was losing then she would break out with a scream that sounded like she had come home to find her dog brutally murdered. Sharapova and her grunt coach called it "Dead Dolce." Then there was the one she used when returning serves on a break point. It was an extended moan with a touch more bass than her standard scream. Before she met Monica, she was just a noisy teenager with some promise. Monica made me a Grand Slam Champion....Horayyy!!!
